This card is available for supervisor and technical occupations subject to the achievement of a Construction Related Supervisory/Technical NVQ or SVQ level 3 or 4.
Who is it addressed to?
The Site Supervisor Card offers the opportunity to people with experience as a supervisor in the construction industry to demonstrate their professional skills.
Simply put, Site Supervisors oversee projects or teams on construction sites. This encompasses a range of responsibilities relating to staff and safety management.
The role of site supervisor is beneath the position of manager with respect to responsibility. Supervisors will act under manager’s guidance to ensure workers are carrying out their work as they should, according to the aims and ethics of the company. The position requires the ability to manage and assign tasks in the team while ensuring that safety and health standards are met.
NVQ Qualifications
- What are the requirements to get a Gold CSCS card?
The most common start as a Site Supervisor is by showing practical experience of working on sites and working your way up the ladder. Work shadowing, taking on additional responsibilities and generally being eager to learn on the job can be key in helping construction workers progress.
There are two main requirements for those looking to become a Site Supervisor:
• CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Certificate
• Gold CSCS card
The majority of construction sites will require you to possess at least one, if not both, to be qualified for the role.
